OUR BELIEFS

• The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.

• There is one true and holy God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

• In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, all of His miracles, His atoning death as a substitute for us, made effective through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, that He has ascended to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return at the final judgment.

• Believe that the Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son in all the Divine attributes. He awakens the minds of people to awareness of their sin, and brings them to understanding and conviction of their need for the Savior through the Holy Scripture. He regenerates them at the point of salvation, and He indwells every believer and equips him or her for personal growth and service to the church. The Holy Spirit is the Divine good-faith guarantee who seals and confirms the believer is the child of God in expectation of final redemption

• In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

• The only means of being cleansed from sin is through faith, repentance and washing in the precious blood of Christ.

• In one baptism, by full immersion, in which Christ washes away the sins of those who believe in Him and trust His promise to cleanse and save them. This is the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

• One body, the Church. The Holy Spirit places all who submit in obedient faith to Jesus in this spiritual body. The Scripture tells believers that it is imperative to assemble together in order to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the word, observance of the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, service to the body and outreach to the world.

OUR PURPOSE

We believe that God has an eternal purpose for each and every member of the Body of Christ. God's eternal purpose for the church is revealed in the Ephesian letter where God's purpose is, "To the praise of His Glory" (Ephesians 1:6,12,14). God's eternal purpose for us as individuals members of His Body are two fold. First, "God wants all people to come to the knowledge of the Truth and be saved" (1 Timothy 2:4). Second, "We are to be conformed into the likeness of Christ" (Romans 8:29).

OUR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER

We believe that just as everyone needs a physical home and a family, we also need a spiritual home where we are cared for and loved just as deeply. Through the love of Christ that dwells within us, we strive to make the North Oak Church of Christ that kind of a home. We are a Body of Christians who join together to worship God in Spirit and Truth (John 4:23). We aim to encourage, edify, and build up one another in worship and service to the Lord. Coming together is a beginning, staying together is a progress, working together is a success.

OUR COMMITMENT

We at the North Oak Church of Christ are committed to the pattern teachings laid out for us in the New Testament. We inspire to trust and follow God's Word as final and total authority. Our Faith and Hope lies in the unshakable promises in God's Eternal Word. Our commitment is to live our lives in such a way as Paul states in 2 Corinthians 3:2-4. To do this we must set aside time each day to meditate on God's Word and devote ourselves to the power of prayer.
